Face Forward - Masks made by Ugandan Women

COVID-19 has meant huge shifts in all our lives. While we in the UK start to ease restrictions, countries like Uganda continue their tight lockdown in the attempt to keep the virus at bay.

Women’s empowerment charity Ride4awoman (www.ride4awoman.org) sits on the edge of the Bwindi Impenetrable rainforest and provides work for a community of women who make products made from African fabrics. The charity has been making masks to raise funds for the women and have now raised £5,672 against their target of £5,000.

Product sales mean that these women can feed their kids – it is as simple as that. So they are making face masks for the UK & Europe and other countries where we are expected to wear them.

Cloud Doing Good has purchased a large number of masks to help the women reach their fundraising target. If you, or your organisation, would like to have some of these distinct masks for free, please send us an email with details or your requirements and we will ship them to you free of charge.
