How international charities finance teams modernise their finance tech stack

The brief

Three NGOs with three different missions were struggling to support legacy finance systems and staff access needs across broad geographies.

The challenges

Mission Aviation Fellowship, the world’s largest humanitarian air operator, needed to streamline their financial processes, while providing access and compliance across jurisdictions.

We Are Purposeful, a Sierra Leone-based global hub for girls’ organising and activism, struggled to maintain multiple legacy systems in multiple countries.

Association Baytna pour le Soutien de la Société Civile, a Syrian/Europe NGO supporting and nurturing civil society, needed an end-to-end process from government funders through to sub-grantee impact delivery. Plus, it had to be an all in the one single, global financial administration system, with strong audit and approval processes built in.

The service

CDG worked with each organisation to determine how a modern Cloud finance tech stack would work for each organization’s specific requirements.

Common across the implementations was improving each organisation’s efficiency, with subsidiaries in far-flung regions working seamlessly in a single finance system. For Baynta, this extended to including sub-grantees within the same single system, seamlessly linking the donors funding to spending on the ground and impact across the world.

CDG used NetSuite to remove separate finance systems and relieve the organisations of various support costs and multiple license fees. We also streamlined and brought online Baytna’s grants process during their implementation.

The impact

By streamlining each international charities financial administration and migrating to the cloud, Cloud Doing Good enabled greater efficiency across the organisations to support more projects and initiatives. Seamlessly link funder reporting to grant disbursements and impact, across the world, all in a single system.
